Howdon Community Hub
Howdon Community Hub is situated in the building formerly known as Howdon Community Centre on Denbigh Avenue, Wallsend, NE28 0PP.
Having originally been built for the community around Howdon, we’re redeveloping it making sure that the activities provided benefit local people. We want it to be a hub for family and community enterprise, encouraging local people to socialise, have fun and develop new enterprise ideas and, in some cases, linking to our important work in improving life chances for disadvantaged children and families.
The links below will help you find out about the activities, events, and facilities at Howdon Community Hub. You can also make a booking, or volunteer to help transform the Hub into a buzzing, exciting and purposeful building. For more information contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Activities and Facilities
Activities – we regularly review the activities that we offer and would love to hear from you if you can suggest new ones.
Facilities – the facilities at the Hub include a number of rooms (including a multi-use games area) that can be used for training, group activities, parties, and outdoor football or other games. We also have a fully equipped, accessible community gym that you can use with an affordable membership offer, and a range of family support services that are part of our charitable offering.
Named by two ladies from our local community in our competition, Howdelicious is situated in the heart of the Hub and offers a welcoming environment in which to eat, drink and socialise. From a tasty healthy breakfast to a wholesome lunch and dessert, we cater for all tastes and are only too happy to offer takeaway food and snacks. Not only that, we’re also excellent at event and external catering. Find out more on our brand new website!
Volunteering at Howdon Community Hub
We want the people of North Tyneside and specifically local Howdon families to feel that the Hub is their place. We want them to have a real say in what happens here, and in how it develops and is protected. To do that we need local people to help us by volunteering in a number of capacities, whether it be to help with the garden area, decorate, help with minor DIY, volunteer in the café, run groups or be part of the management committee.
If you’re motivated to help others more, give something back or do something worthwhile, volunteering is a fantastic way to make sure you achieve your goal! 👍🏻
We’re always looking for volunteers, for everything from cooking to painting and plenty in between. You could join the likes of P&G, Tesco, Sage and Silverbean and give something back to your local community.
To see how you could put your skills to use and do something great this year, call us on 0191 643 7955. We always need people for gardening and keeping local community areas looking lovely!
